Sunbury Landcare Association

Sunbury Landcare Association has, over a number of years, undertaken revegetation projects on Council owned land at several sites around Sunbury and Bulla, as well as working on private land. In 2007, again in conjunction with Hume City Council, revegetation work was begun at Emu Valley Reserve at the northern end of Racecourse Rd, Sunbury. Weed problems at the site included boxthorn, gorse, aniseed and exotic grasses in the riparian zone. Rabbit infestation has been controlled by a baiting program carried out by Hume Council. Indigenous plantings are beginning to transform the area and will form part of a wildlife corridor along Jacksons Creek. We have recently extended our plantings to Mt Holden above the Sunbury Landfill.
